A patient underwent a surgical revision for postoperative haemorrhage (arterial bleeding from the inguinal region). She was admitted to the ICU with an enormous dose of noradrenalin 7 mg/hour (1.7 ugs/kg/min) and sinus tachycardia 120 bpm. Lactate 3 mmol/l, its level was stable during surgery (lasting 2 hours), only minimal diuresis. Mechanical ventilation without any complication.
Clinical question – Should we give fluids to reduce the dose of noradrenaline?
